Get in Tune: Meet Dusty Golden

After a full day of learning and connection at Gathering Ground – A Producer Development Day, we’ll close out the evening with live music from Alberta’s own Dusty Golden.

Dusty hails from Mayerthorpe, Alberta, where his roots in both rodeo and ranching have shaped his authentic country sound. A professional bull rider and a rising singer-songwriter, Dusty’s music is grounded in storytelling, inspired by rural life, hard work, and the wide-open prairies. Influenced by legends like Waylon Jennings and Kris Kristofferson, he brings a sincerity and grit that resonates with producers and rodeo fans alike.

Since picking up his first guitar at age 7, Dusty has carved out a unique path that blends his love of rodeo with his passion for music. In 2023, he gained acclaim with standout performances, including a second-place finish in the legendary Ranchman’s Rising Star competition. His songs reflect the realities of life on the land and in the arena — honest, heartfelt, and unmistakably country.
