Watering: Lifeline, Limiting Factor… or Just Frozen Solid?

  • The Jaded Chef 5103 50 Street Sangudo, AB, T0E 2A0 Canada (map)

About this session

Continue the winter Grazing Club with an evening focused on practical livestock watering and real-world solutions for rotational grazing systems.

This session will start with the basics of livestock water quality, why it matters, how it affects intake, performance, and herd health, and what producers should be watching for in their own water sources. From there, the focus will shift to watering systems within rotational grazing, including common challenges, design considerations, and management approaches that work across seasons.

Whether you are setting up new watering infrastructure or adapting existing systems, this session is designed to share practical ideas you can apply on your own operation. Expect a relaxed atmosphere, real-world examples, and plenty of opportunity for producer-to-producer learning and discussion around what has worked, and what hasn’t.
